Where are we?

How to find us

Kintbury is a picturesque village just off the A4 between Newbury and Hungerford. Kintbury was mentioned in the Doomsday book and has documented links with Jane Austen, who wrote about visits to Kintbury in some of her letters. She stayed at Croft Cottage, and at the old vicarage, which is located beside the canal. (Source: Nicola Cornick – The Secret Life of a Country Village.)

Our horse-drawn barge and day-hire self-drive narrowboat are based at the edge of the village, close to Kintbury station. There is parking next to the canal in the Dundas Arms car park, which is free of charge to our customers. Some of our one-way horse-drawn barge trips begin at Hungerford and end at Kintbury.
